Darren,

I have read about trans strap kits that seemed to do more harm than good. I have a feeling it was the ones that did not fit tightly up against the trans and allowed it to move. In those cases, the straps probably were ineffective and were no better than having no straps installed. Rob showed me a center mount that actually bolts to the trans. Now THAT'S a solid mount!

Another important thing to keep in mind is DO NOT mix solid and rubber mounts. If you are using stock (or hard rubber, or urethane) mounts, be sure to use a rubber lined strap kit. If using solid mounts, go solid throughout. You don't want to have a solid nose mount, but allow movement at the straps. That's how you break nose cones!
