hey greg,

sure, be happy to when i get it done.

the reason i'm doing it is because i thought wiring would be easier, fixing/changing/adding wiring would be easier, i can fill the gas filler access hole in my hood for a cleaner look, i don't have to pull the steering column to get under the hood, i may be able to store a jack in there, and i can access the radiator that i'm mounting up front for the subaru 2.5 i'm putting in the back. all good reasons, i thought.

i debated a long time about doing it, figuring there's a reason it wasn't done in the first place, then realized the reason was cost. i realize there are some stability issues when the fenders aren't bolted to the hood, but i've made my fabricator aware of that, and he'll strengthen/stabilize the front fenders.

i think i found the hinges i'll use. i mounted the windshield wiper motor, then traced a line on the hood to make sure i clear it, so i can add an aluminum panel that will hide the motor and wiring when the hood is open. i also want to seal the hood area so radiator/road wind/debris doesn't blow into the passenger area. i think to secure the hood, i'm just going to use hood pins. strong ones. not sure how i would do a latch, and can't find anyone who's done it online. i'll glass in the hinge attachment points and install the hinges, and THEN cut it. that should ensure a pretty perfect alignment, i think.

if anyone has any thoughts on something i'm doing that might be wrong or could be improved, i'm open to suggestions.
